Mystery solved

So for those of you who have been following the random Noah illness saga, we have finally gotten a complete diagnosis!  It took 2 pediatrician's appointments with 2 different doctors to come to this, but at least the news is good.  Noah has roseola.  It is apparently quite common in kids age 6 to 24 months and is almost never seen after age 4.  It take 9-10 days to incubate before you see any symptoms.  That would put him getting it somewhere around two weeks ago by now, so god only knows where he picked it up.  It is characterized by a relatively high fever (over 103) for 3-5 days (CHECK!), and 12-24 hours after the fever breaks a red rash appears first on the stomach and back and then spreads to the extremities (CHECK!).  He got a pretty impressive reaction to it too, with the rash spreading up to his face (not the arms and legs strangely though).  Supposedly the rash will disappear as quickly as it appears in the next day or so, and its no longer contagious after the fever breaks, so he is good to go back and see Nana Lou tomorrow!!!  His appetite is absolutely pathetic, he managed to lose weight over the weekend, thankfully only a couple of ounces though, so nothing that won't be fixed in a matter of days once his appetite returns.  He is still a clingy monkey and looks a little worse for the wear now with the rash EVERY WHERE!  But overall things could be much worse and the good news is once little ones get roseola once, they are immune for life!  So for now mystery solved, onwards to get him up from his nap and try to get a little food in him!
