Cute little Noahism

Over the last couple of days, mainly since the onset of the fever, I have been noticing Noah hauling his crib blanket out of the crib with him when I go in to get him in the morning or after naps.  Its a pretty big blanket, and 2 layers no less.  Its odd, Tim and I have been trying to get him to attach to a couple of things (mainly since we had multiple of them) for the last 6 months or so and he just never seemed interested.  Funny how the only reason we were using that specific blanket lately has been because its winter and that blanket is particularly warm.  No other good reason and I really didn't even think he was processing that blanket specifically.  I was wrong.  He has been dragging around the blanket and it suddenly clicked, he is getting pretty attached.  So of course I go to try and find a duplicate and wouldn't you know, they don't sell that one any more!  So I attempted the next best thing and found a couple of blankets that were made out of the same material and tried to pass them off last night.  I took the "good" blanket out of the crib and folded it up neatly and draped it over the side of the crib.  I then laid him down to sleep and covered him with one of the new blankets.  I saw him looking in the direction of the "good" blankie and thought to myself..."I bet I find him in the morning with that blanket and not the new one."  I was wrong, but only partially.  I went in to check on the wee man before getting into bed last night and he already had it cuddled up right next to his face, with the new blanket ditched at the far other end of the crib.  Thwarted!  Oh well, we'll keep trying to pass off one of the new ones, and I guess worst case scenario if that fails we can just cut the good one in half to give us a back-up and to make lugging it around every where a little more manageable.  Too cute though!

I would recommend cutting it in half if you can't find another one. Just make sure both get some wear and breaking in. Having a second one has been a lifesaver. One blankie stays primarily at home and the other goes back and forth each day to daycare. When one is in the wash, there's not a meltdown.
