Hi all, just wanted to provide a quick update about the crib progress. As of 10:38 am west coast time on Day 19 of the crib recall fiasco, Jardine Enterprises has received our package containing the crib hardware and paperwork. The only step remaining is for them to send us the voucher for the new crib. We'll see how long that process takes...they said 1-2 weeks, but I am not holding my breath!
In a related sidenote, Tim and I visited the Babies R Us in Everett in person and marched into the furniture department to snoop at possible replacement cribs. Given the fact that the only 2 white cribs on the display floor looked either like something that belonged to a pretty, pretty princess, I waited patiently to speak with the dude that seemed to be manning the department. After indicating that we were suffering from the Jardine crib recall, receiving his sympathies, he actually found IN WRITING in a company-wide email to employees where it says customers can purchase a crib online, and once they receive the crib they can bring in the packing slip and the voucher from Jardine to get the amount of the voucher refunded to their credit card (minus the shipping costs OF COURSE)!!! This made me exceedingly happy since the selection in the store was absolute crap! So after agonizing online, reading reviews, searching for company's crib recall histories, an hour and a half later we finally decided on the crib I originally picked out on a whim because I liked the way it looked!! Isn't that the most annoying thing ever, but at least I won't lose sleep at night worrying that I nonchalantly picked a dud crib this time. The order is being processed as I type and with any luck we will have a crib at our doorstep at some point late next week (which is also awesome cause we were going to have to go through some serious hassles getting that huge thing home in one of our cars...not that family hadn't already offered to help)! I'll let you know when it arrives and perhaps post a picture of our most recent furniture addition to the household! :)
