Noah found his feet!

Noah had a very busy week learning this past week. Not only did he find his feet for real this time, but he also made his first advances in independent mobility! Previously, Noah had seen his feet and taken interest in looking at them, but they were never a source of entertainment...this has all changed. Now whenever he is on his back, he will now reach up and grab his feet and use them as a make-shift toy. This presents a great deal of problems when it comes to diaper changes. Please observe the picture below and envision how you are going to get a diaper securely (must be secure to prevent messy results later on) fastened to this baby ball.

Now, I will admit, it is terribly cute to watch him entertain himself happily with his own lower appendages, but seriously, could diaper changes get more complicated? And he still hasn't officially rolled over yet. He will roll most of the way there as he loses his balance while clutching his feet, but we have yet to see a full flip from front to back or back to front. Someday I suppose.

In our travels this weekend, we were finally able to find Noah his own wee man sized Red Sox hat. Amazingly, it is identical to Tim's only half the size!! Its still a bit big for his head, but since its adjustable it should last a good long time! Doesn't he look like such an official fan now?!

We also managed to finally find a swim suit in his size, there are little board shorts and a rash guard t-shirt that matches. Hopefully they fit nicely later this summer when we are at the cottage in Maine! For now I decided to try on the shirt in a less conventional manner just for fun! Noah doesn't seem to notice the difference.

Saturday it got warm enough (for a few hours at least) to try on some summer clothes. This is the most adorable set we have gotten yet. The onesie top has little embroidered sharks all over it and the short overalls have a little shark profile on the leg (check out the shark's pearly whites)!!! Hopefully it gets warm enough to put him in this a couple more times before he outgrows it. Its size 3-6 months, so we should have a bit more time, but I think this set ran a bit small on the length end.

And finally, a bit of progress on the mobility front. Not that I am trying to rush along this process as I do realize that a mobile child is 100% more work to look after than a non-mobile version, but it is exciting to watch him accomplish new feats, so here's to Noah's new found ability....to inch along. Yes, he is a human inch worm! He speeds along at about 2 feet every 20 minutes, but hey...he's going some where! :) He has also discovered that now that he can move along a bit better, tummy time isn't quite such a vile activity. He will last on average about 15-20 minutes now as opposed to the 5 minutes a couple of weeks ago. He is also getting really good at propping himself up on his arms and checking things out, which makes for terribly cute pictures. Hope everyone has a great week!
