P.S. This is what happens when mommy doesn't get enough sleep...the bib stays on as we are getting ready for bath time. Who knows, if Tim hadn't said something, I might have put him in the tub like that, but at least I had intentions on removing the diaper before the bath! :)

So...for our big news!!! First, monumental events in mobility have occurred...Noah can now officially roll over (from back to front). He doesn't do it often, but he possesses the ability now and we've seen it with our own 2 eyes!!! We have no picture of this event, but we are working on getting video of it (of course we'll have to edit out 10 minutes of flopping back and forth before he actually decides to roll over). Apparently you can even post videos on the blog, so we'll work on that at some point as well!
In our other big news, Noah has now started on "solid" food. Because of the whole not sleeping through the night thing, it was suggested that we try him out with some cereal. Since the pediatrician at his 4-month appointment said to start when we thought he was ready...we figured it was worth a shot. So Tuesday evening we decided to give it a whirl. Not knowing too much about baby cereal and not wanting to shock his little system...I think I may have made the first batch of cereal a bit too soupy, but Noah seemed to enjoy the experience, which is all that really matters isn't it??
Here is a picture of a successful bite...there were MANY other not so successful bites where the cereal went in, the spoon came out and then the entire contents of the spoon was squirted back out and ran down his chin. Its a learning process. Now that I have figured out how to get the consistency of the cereal right, he is getting much better at keeping it in there, and last night he finished his whole bowl (granted the bowl only contained 2 tablespoons of cereal and 2 tablespoons of milk...but he ate the whole thing!).

A whole new level of baby messes to be made. If I thought breastfeeding was messy, I was sadly mistaken...rice cereal is a sticky nightmare...especially when baby hands end up in mouths which are half-full of rice cereal...then eyes are rubbed cause its too close to naptime. You end up with rice cereal in places that you can't even imagine. I think I am still cleaning up sticky spots of rice cereal left over from that first feeding 6 days and 2 baths later!

Noah's first test-run in the high chair. We thought we might try out feeding in this high chair, but since there is not much side support on this thing, he kept leaning to one side (he is starting already in this picture 10 seconds after we put him in). And since we are trying to keep feeding solids a sitting up activity we didn't want to recline the seat too much, so for now we are sticking with the foam support seat on the kitchen counter (which makes for an easier cleanup anyway).

Speaking of the foam seat on the kitchen counter...here is the wee man messing around and entertaining us while we make dinner. He has a potholder on his head...apparently, I frequently wore potholders as hats back in the day as I tooled around in my walker, so I decided to continue the tradition. Noah seems quite content with his head wear and was more interested in playing with his feet.

And with the playing of the feet comes the removal of the socks and with the removal of the socks comes the eating of the dirty socks...mmmmm, tasty.
